GIS Software Developers for South Africa * URGENT


The South African GIS industry is currently experiencing a massive shortage skill in experienced software developers with exposure to geospatial database, web and software development.

Here follows a list of the current skill requirements as combined from a few previous job specs:

Qualifications
·         BSc/BEng Degree with computer science from a recognised university
·         Bsc Geomatics Degree
·         Information Technology qualification and/or Sun Certified Java Programmer Certification

Experience
·         Graduate, junior, mid and senior level developers required
·         Exposure to geospatial/GIS development, technologies & data

Technologies
·         C# .NET
·         Java enterprise web development (Javascript)
·         Databases – MSQL, Postgres (PostGIS), Oracle, MySQL, DB2
·         Cloud based (REST) solutions development
·         Multiple Operating System experience
·         Web Development  - ASP.NET; Flex; Silverlight, HTML5
·         ArcObjects  with C#/Java
·         Experience in the use of the ArcGIS Desktop, Server and SDE
·         JavaSE, JavaEE, J2ME, HTML, JavaScript
·         J2EE application servers, like WebLogic

Please note that the above qualification, experience and technology list is not definitive, but it has been some of the more recent skills requirements. All other related spatial programming experience and technologies will be considered.
