The following two GIS related bursaries are advertised on the GISSA website.
1) The Geo-informatics Development Fund invites applications for research funding, attendance at recognised conferences in the fields of cartography and geographic information science and activities that support the advancement of the science of cartography and geographic information.
Due date for applications:
a) Research work: 30 September for the following academic year.
b) Conference attendance: 30 April and 31 October of each year.
2) The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is currently offering bursaries to qualifying applicants who are South African citizens and wish to commence with tertiary studies during the 2014 academic year. Fields of study include BSc/BA in Geo-Informatics/ Geographic Information Science and Postgraduate studies (Honours/Masters in Geo-Informatics/Geographic Information Science)
Due date for applications: 30 September 2013.
