Good quality map apps have become the norm

I read this article, "New Apple Maps under fire from users", this morning on the BBC News website regarding the new Apple Map service.

Although I am sure these short comings in Apple Maps are just temporary, it just shows how good quality and accurate data in mapping applications has become the norm today. By mapping I mean the base maps, aerial and satelite imagery, plus other points of interest layers.
